Payment Policy

This page covers how you pay for an order, when the money leaves your account, what appears on your statement and what to do if a payment does not go through. If a charge ever looks unfamiliar, read the section on statement descriptors before you call your bank, because most of these questions are settled in one email.

Ways to pay

We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal.

The options shown at checkout depend on the country your order is being delivered to, because the payment provider does not offer every method everywhere.

If a method you expected is missing, tell us and we will check whether it can be enabled for your country.

The currency you pay in

Prices are shown and charged in USD, and the total you see at checkout is the amount charged.

Your bank or card issuer converts the payment into your own currency if you are shopping from abroad, and the rate and any fee are set by them rather than by us.

Refunds are returned in USD, so a change in the exchange rate between the order and the refund can change what you actually receive.

When your card is charged, and what your statement shows

Your card is charged when you complete checkout rather than when the order ships, because production starts straight away.

The charge appears on your statement under the descriptor the shop name followed by the order number, which is the name your bank shows instead of the design you bought.

If you do not recognise a charge, write to us before contacting your bank, because we can usually identify it from the date and the amount in a moment.

Taxes and duties

Tax on an order depends on the country it is delivered to. Prices are shown in US dollars and do not include sales tax or VAT, which is added at checkout where the shop is registered to collect it.

Any duty is set by the customs authority in the country of delivery rather than by us. Import duties and taxes charged by the destination country are the customer's responsibility unless the checkout says they are paid at checkout.

Any import charge is worked out by the customs authority or the carrier in the country of delivery and is collected from you on arrival, not by us.

How payment data is handled

Your card number, expiry date and security code are entered on the payment provider’s own form and go directly to them.

We never see your full card details and we cannot store them, which is why we cannot take a card number by email or over the phone.

What we receive is a payment reference, the card brand, the last four digits where the provider passes them on, and whether the payment succeeded.

If a payment fails or is declined

A declined payment usually means the bank wants to verify the transaction, or that the billing address does not match the one on file.

Nothing is printed until a payment has cleared, and an order that fails at checkout is not held for you.

If money appears to have left your account for an order that failed, it is normally an authorisation hold that your bank releases on its own; write to us and we will confirm what we can see.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel an order at any time before it enters production, and we refund the payment in full.

Once an item has been printed we cannot cancel it, because it was made for you; the returns policy explains what can still be sent back.

Refunds go to the original payment method within 5, and we cannot send a refund to a different card or account.

Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong with an order, contact us first at [email protected], because a question about a late parcel is usually settled the same day.

A chargeback raised before you speak to us takes longer for everyone, since the bank then has to ask us for the same order records we would have sent you directly.

We answer chargeback enquiries with the order, the tracking and the correspondence, and we never close an account for asking a question.
